In a world that is increasingly looking at how sustainable both products and companies are, at SACW we are working both internally and with our suppliers to do as much as we can to be more environmentally friendly.

The durability of tiles and their longevity, means that they are instantly a more environmentally friendly choice than some other floor coverings.  And with increased awareness of the importance of protecting our environment for future generations, the work to improve is ongoing.

Our main supplier of slab and large format tiles has obtained ISO 20400 certification, which regulates standards and guidelines for sustainable procurement at international level.  They are among the first ceramic surface manufacturing companies to achieve this goal, by using innovative technologies and natural raw materials to build a balance throughout their production and supply processes.

To do our bit for the environment, we:

- Use energy saving devices in our showrooms, such as LED lights

- Timed heating to only warm the showroom when it’s in use

- Customers are encouraged to return samples so that they can be reused

- Most unopened boxes of tiles may be returned and refunded

- Packaging is recycled where practical

- Train freight is our preferred transport for imports from Europe

- Where possible we have full loaded lorry policies

- Online meetings to reduce business travel

- Energy efficient staff vehicles or public transport/cycles are used

And we will continue to find efficiencies and solutions to improve our sustainability in the future.
