3D tiles are all the rage and that has been something of a revelation in terms of the sort of tiles people are buying at the moment.
In the past it’s been marble-effect, bright colours, or concrete-effect tiles but this year it is 3D tiles and we’ve got a number of different ones for you to choose from.
Limestone-effect
Limestone-effect tiles are designed to look like the materials they mimic.
They are incredibly realistic, hardwearing, stain and scratch-resistant and well worth a look, particularly the new 3D variants that are coming to the market at the moment.
Fluted | 3D Tiles
Fluted 3D tiles are good way to add interest in a room. They obviously cannot be used on the floor but some ranges have a plain variant that can be combined with their fluted 3D tiles to add to their versatility.

3D Decor and Strip Mosaics | 3D Tiles
An alternative to fluted tiles are 3D Decor tiles and strip mosaics. Unlike fluted tiles that come as a single tile, 3D decor and strip mosaics are supplied on a mesh background. This means that they can be used on curved surfaces/walls which makes them hugely versatile.
Both of these types of 3D tiles are only suitable for use on walls, but most ranges have plain variants that can be combined with them to create really eye-catching designs for use in showers and wet rooms – check the anti-slip ratings for wet rooms.

Wood-effect
Wood-effect porcelain tiles are realistic and hardwearing and have none of the down sides of the real thing. They won’t warp or change colour and are particularly good in high traffic areas as well as bathrooms and wetrooms.
Wood-effect 3D Decor and Strip Mosaic | 3D Tiles
Wood-effect porcelain tiles offer so many benefits as detailed above as well as having anti-slip variants and are easy to combine with underfloor heating for cosy rooms in the winter. If you combine these plus points with the interest created by 3D Decor or strip mosaics, then you can create beautiful and eye-catching designs.

Modern 3D Looks
Linear and Chevron |3D Tiles
For a more modern 3D look linear and chevron tiles are becoming ever more prevalent. They create an edgy, modern feel in a room and interest on walls. Because they are effectively just straight lines on tiles you can style the way they are laid for additional interest. They can be combined with plain variants of the same tile for a cohesive look.

Traditional Linear | 3D Tiles
So far we have featured a variety of 3D tiles: fluted, wood-effect 3D Decor and Mosaics, limestone-effect 3D Decor and Mosaics and modern Linear and Chevron styles. The last one is a more traditional Linear look which is much softer than the more modern versions. It doesn’t have the sharp edges, but instead has a more natural flow which works to great creative effect as a statement wall, when paired with our standard plain tile on the floor.
